Drake Public School provides a well balanced curriculum while maintaining a focus on the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
The school offers a supportive environment that caters for the needs of the individual student. It welcomes the support of parents and caregivers as well as the wider community.
Drake Public School (DPS) is located approximately 100km from the Lismore Department of Education and Training office. The school has 28 students with two classes. There are 13 students in Kindergarten to Year 2 and 15 students in Year 3 to Year 6. The Teaching Principal at DPS is Mrs Christine Dorward. Classroom teachers are Mrs Susan Bailey and Mrs Leanne Hart. The students are also support by two School Learning Support Officers, Mrs Janette Woodward and Ms Jude Wright.
Drake Public School receives Priority School Program funding, Country Areas Program funding and National Partnership Low Socio-Economic funding to support learning programs.
Drake Public School caters for the needs of children from a small isolated rural community with many students travelling each day by bus from surrounding properties. Parents, community members and staff work together at Drake to promote student achievement through providing challenging quality educational programs and a strong network for all students.
