Drake Public School provides a well balanced curriculum while maintaining a focus on the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
The school offers a supportive environment that caters for the needs of the individual student. It welcomes the support of parents and caregivers as well as the wider community.
Drake Public School (DPS) is located approximately 100km from the Lismore Department of Education and Training office. The school has 17 students with two classes. There are 10 students in Kindergarten to Year 3 and 7 students in Year 4 to Year 6. The Relieving Principal at DPS is Mrs Kellie Dean. Classroom teachers are Mrs Kellie Dean and Mrs Lianne Hart. The students are also supported by two School Learning Support Officers, Ms Leah Ballard and Mrs Jennifer Hart. Mini Lit is run daily by Ms Sherilee Smith.
Drake Public School caters for the needs of children from a small isolated rural community with many students travelling each day by bus from surrounding properties. Parents, community members and staff work together at Drake to promote student achievement through providing challenging quality educational programs and a strong network for all students.
